Terms of Service — Path to Panama

Last updated: July 5, 2026

Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website at pathtopanama.com, the AI relocation assistant ("Río"), the membership service, and the browser extension (together, the "Service"), operated by 2717161 Alberta Inc., a corporation registered in Alberta, Canada, doing business as "Path to Panama" ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

What the Service is

Path to Panama provides an AI-powered assistant and related tools to help people research and plan a move to Panama, including general information about visas, cost of living, locations, housing, document translation, and trip and budget planning. The Service is for general informational and organizational purposes only.

Not professional advice. Path to Panama and Río do not provide legal, immigration, financial, tax, accounting, real estate, or medical advice, and nothing in the Service constitutes such advice or creates a professional-client relationship. Information may be incomplete, out of date, or inaccurate, and laws, fees, and requirements change frequently. Always verify important information with a qualified, licensed professional before relying on it.

AI-generated content

Río uses artificial intelligence to generate responses, translations, and document explanations. AI systems can produce information that is inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading, including content that sounds confident but is wrong. Translations and explanations of official documents are provided as a convenience and may contain errors. You are responsible for independently verifying any information before relying on it, and you should not rely on Río's output as the sole basis for any legal, financial, immigration, or other important decision.

Photos and third-party imagery

Many location photos shown in the Service are contributed by third parties and provided through Google Maps ("Google Maps contributors"). Such images are credited to their source where shown, are provided for general orientation only, may have been taken at any time, and may be outdated, inaccurate, or not representative of a place's current condition or appearance. Do not rely on them as an accurate depiction of any property, business, or location.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. When you create an account, you agree to provide accurate information, keep your login credentials secure, and accept responsibility for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at hello@pathtopanama.com of any unauthorized use.

Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation

Membership plans. Relocator membership is offered on a monthly plan (US$39 per month) or an annual plan (US$390 per year). All prices are in US dollars. If you pay with a card denominated in another currency, your bank or card network may apply its own exchange rate and fees.

Automatic renewal. Paid memberships renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual) at the then-current price, using the payment method on file, until you cancel. By subscribing, you authorize Path to Panama (operated by 2717161 Alberta Inc.) to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.

Cancellation. You may cancel your membership at any time from your account, using the “Manage subscription” option, which opens our payment provider’s secure billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period: you keep full access to Relocator features until that date, and you are not charged again afterward.

Refunds. Payments are non-refundable, and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods, unused time, or partial use of the service, except where required by applicable law. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at hello@pathtopanama.com and we will review the matter in good faith.

Price changes. We may change membership pricing from time to time. Any change applies to your next billing period, with advance notice as required by law. Continuing your membership after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.

Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, we may retry the charge and/or suspend or downgrade your membership to the free tier until payment is resolved.

Billing questions. For billing questions, contact hello@pathtopanama.com.

Third-party referrals, partners, and links

The Service may introduce you to, or link you to, independent third parties — such as immigration law firms, real estate contacts, and travel or booking partners. Any such introduction or referral is provided as a convenience and is not an endorsement, recommendation, or guarantee. Path to Panama is not a party to, and is not responsible for, any agreement, service, advice, or transaction between you and a third party; you deal with them at your own risk and under their own terms. Where we include affiliate or referral links, we may earn a commission if you make a purchase, at no extra cost to you.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purpose;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems;
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, or reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy it beyond normal use;
  • Upload content that is illegal, infringes others' rights, or contains malware;
  • Misrepresent your identity or use the Service to harass or harm others;
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission.

Your content

You retain ownership of the content you submit to the Service (such as messages, documents, and notes). You grant us a limited license to store, process, and use that content solely to operate and provide the Service to you, including processing by our AI and other service providers as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit any content you provide.

Our intellectual property

The Service — including its software, design, text, and branding (including "Path to Panama" and "Río") — is owned by Path to Panama and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not use our trademarks or content without our prior written permission.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any information provided through it is accurate or complete.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Path to Panama and its officers, directors, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service or your reliance on any information provided through it. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Path to Panama from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) will continue to apply.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The courts located in Alberta, Canada will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
